Recently, our president and CEO Belinda R. King voluntarily stepped down from her role to focus more on her family.
Our first ministry is our family. We are grateful for her discernment and that she is listening to God’s call.
We appreciate the legacy that Belinda leaves behind. She served the past 12 ½ years in a variety of leadership roles at Disciples Church Extension Fund with her last 2 ½ years being president and CEO.
Her commitment to building a strong foundation to move the ministry forward in a pandemic-informed world was evident from her first day. She built new ministry partnerships, reinvigorated legacy programs, and empowered staff to be all they could be. Under her leadership, the organization:
- Established a strategic plan, accomplished year 1 goals, and set structure processes
- Increased net assets by over $2M
- Had a record year for loans closed ($26.7M+) and investments made ($25.8M+)
- Continued the New Ways into the World endowment campaign and is currently more than 70% to goal
Belinda has built a strong foundation for the staff, board, and our partners to continue the work that was started over 140 years ago. Her efforts will continue to bear fruit.
Know that our vision hasn’t changed. Our mission hasn’t changed. We are still a catalyst for change in the lives of our congregations and ministry partners. We are strong and secure and here to serve beside you.
In the coming months, we will install an interim president and CEO to guide the work until a new president and CEO can be called. We will keep you apprised of our progress as we move forward.
We ask that you keep us, and Belinda’s family, in your prayers as we listen for God’s call and discern our next steps.
