Service and maintain your heater.<\/h3>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li><strong>Have a licensed, experienced heating contractor inspect and service your system for proper operation.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Check furnace filters monthly. Replace them quarterly <\/strong>or according to the manufacturer\u2019s recommendation.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Keep combustible material at least 36 inches (91 centimetres) from heating units<\/strong>. Never store items like gasoline or paint thinner in the same room as these units.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>2.
