INDIANAPOLIS \u2013 A fundraising professional with more than 25 years of nonprofit development experience has joined the staff of Disciples Church Extension Fund<\/a> (DCEF) as Director of Development.<\/p>\n

Katy McFall, CFRE, who has served as a development officer in nonprofit organizations in Texas, Virginia, and Minnesota, comes to DCEF from the Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota (EFMN), St. Paul, Minn.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cKaty brings invaluable experience and insight to this position,\u201d said DCEF President Belinda R. King. \u201cAs we enter into this new era of ministry among Disciples, she is the right person at the right time.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Among other accomplishments, Katy designed and implemented a comprehensive strategic annual plan for the EFMN, which boasted 43 percent gains in individual philanthropic giving, compared to pre-pandemic revenue.<\/p>\n

Katy and her husband, Rev. David Cobb, are no strangers to DCEF and its ministries. David consulted with Jim Michel, a DCEF Building and Capital Services Advisor, while David served as pastor of Spirit of Joy Christian Church in Lakeville, Minn.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cI\u2019m excited to be part of DCEF\u2019s outreach to equip congregations in this new time,\u201d Katy said, referring to the changes wrought by the pandemic. \u201cIt\u2019s so critical to prepare and empower congregations for the creative and innovative opportunities that are before us. I\u2019m happy to lean into that supportive work as congregations strive for renewal and transformation.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Katy attended Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. She graduated from the Divinity School of the University of Chicago with a Master of Arts, where she served on the Alumni Council of the Disciples Divinity House, including a term as president. Katy and David were sent by the Christian Unity and Interfaith Ministry<\/a> (formerly the Council on Christian Unity) to represent Disciples at the Ecumenical Institute at Bossey in Switzerland.<\/p>\n

The couple will continue to make their home in St. Paul, Minn., where David serves as a chaplain in a children\u2019s hospital. Their son Jackson is a University of Texas student pursuing a Master of Fine Arts in Integrated Media for Live Performance.<\/p>\n
