As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, many Disciples congregations have been learning how to go hybrid, providing both in-person and digital worship services, Bible studies, and more. Disciples Church Extension Fund<\/a> (DCEF) is offering loans of up to US $50,000 for technology upgrades to help qualified congregations pivot to a stronger online presence moving forward. The technology needs of congregations can include tangible equipment purchases and upgrades to undergird the church\u2019s ability to connect with their members virtually. These technology loans are available through April 30, 2023, at .25% below<\/strong> DCEF’s current rate for loans with comparable terms.<\/p>\n

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, many Disciples congregations have been forced to shut down in-person worship for nearly a year or longer. Disciples Church Extension Fund (DCEF) is offering funding for technology upgrades to help congregations pivot to a stronger online presence moving forward. This funding can come in the form of either a grant or loan to meet the technology needs of congregations, including tangible equipment purchases and upgrades to undergird the church\u2019s ability to broadcast worship services and connect with their members virtually. Eligible recipients must be congregations\/ministries that are related to the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)<\/a> denomination as evidenced by a current listing in the Year Book & Directory of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). This includes congregations in 'In Formation' status. Matching grants up to US $5,000 are available to meet these needs. Congregations can receive funding if they previously purchased equipment with building fund monies on May 4, 2021 (the date we first publicized the existence of the grant) or after. In this case, dated invoices are required to apply for a grant.\u00a0Due to the high demand for these grants and limited funds available to meet these requests, DCEF has set an initial application deadline of May 31, 2021.\u00a0<\/em>Loans are available for projects that will have costs in excess of what can be raised in a matching grant. Loan applications do not have a deadline. Congregations can apply for both a loan and a grant if the cash contributed to the project by the congregation and<\/em> the matching grant do not equal the total cost of the project.<\/p>

Grant applications must be received by midnight on May 31, 2021. Applications should be emailed to:
