{"id":5522,"date":"2020-12-29T17:13:34","date_gmt":"2020-12-29T22:13:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/disciplescef.org\/blog\/?p=5522"},"modified":"2021-01-04T11:16:58","modified_gmt":"2021-01-04T16:16:58","slug":"dcef-end-year-message","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/disciplescef.org\/blog\/dcef-end-year-message\/","title":{"rendered":"DCEF End of Year Message"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As the year comes to a close, we want to thank you for your partnership with <a href=\"https:\/\/disciplescef.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Disciples Church Extension Fund<\/a>\u00a0(DCEF), including <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newchurchministry.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New Church Ministry<\/a>,\u00a0and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.disciplescef.org\/plan\/#hope\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hope Partnership Services<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>2020 has been unprecedented in so many ways. Due to the <a href=\"https:\/\/disciplescef.org\/covid-19-resources\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">COVID-19 pandemic<\/a>, our usual way of conducting business changed. But one thing didn\u2019t change: <strong>Disciples helping Disciples<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>From <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/0uGbrX79qQ8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">feeding<\/a> houseless\u00a0individuals in Oregon and assisting those affected by August\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/ArOIQ6N_TdU\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">derecho<\/a> in Iowa, to connecting with church members online, we witnessed how the Church has come together to serve communities across the United States and Canada.<\/p>\n<p>Your partnership and support, including through your investments, have also helped our ministries be there for Disciples in old and new ways. In 2020, DCEF and New Church Ministry:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Delivered 165+ services and consultations<\/li>\n<li>Performed 23+ workshops<\/li>\n<li>Provided expert coaching for 25 courageous leaders<\/li>\n<li>Started the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.disciplescef.org\/blog\/got-questions-about-your-church-advisors-have-answers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Ask the Advisors<\/em><\/a> blog post series (which has been opened 31,250+ times and shared 6,590+ times)<\/li>\n<li>Trained 87 new church leaders at the 2020 (virtual) <a href=\"https:\/\/newchurchministry.org\/training-future\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Leadership Academy<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Prepared 21 new <a href=\"https:\/\/newchurchministry.org\/services\/coaching\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">coaches<\/a> for their work with new and transforming church leaders<\/li>\n<li>Helped 50 congregations apply for $1,000,000 in <a href=\"https:\/\/disciplescef.org\/blog\/dcef-offers-assistance-in-applying-for-cares-act-paycheck-protection-program-loans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Paycheck Protection Program<\/a> loans<\/li>\n<li>Issued loan-payment <a href=\"https:\/\/www.disciplescef.org\/blog\/dcef-announces-loan-payment-deferral-plan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">deferrals<\/a> for 250 congregations in light of the pandemic<\/li>\n<li>Registered 1,309 individuals for New Church Hacks <a href=\"https:\/\/newchurchministry.org\/services\/new-church-hacks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">webinars<\/a> (400+ for episode 4 on <a href=\"https:\/\/newchurchministry.org\/aiovg_videos\/season-2-episode-4-webinar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">anti-racism<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Assisted 16 churches in 6 states following building <a href=\"https:\/\/disciplescef.org\/plan\/disaster-response\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">disasters<\/a><\/li>\n<li>And much, much more!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>AND, as of December 17th, the <a href=\"https:\/\/disciplescef.org\/blog\/dcef-loan-approvals-exceed-one-billion-dollars\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">total<\/a> loan approvals extended by Disciples Church Extension Fund to congregations in need exceeded one billion dollars!<\/p>\n<p>So take a moment to view our 2020 year-end <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/FLrmRvnGVfo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">message<\/a>, celebrating Disciples helping Disciples.<\/p>\n<p>After all, that\u2019s what DCEF has been doing for nearly <a href=\"https:\/\/disciplescef.org\/about\/history\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">138 years<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>And that\u2019s what the <a href=\"https:\/\/disciples.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)<\/a>\u00a0has been doing for much longer.<\/p>\n<p>Happy New Year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As the year comes to a close, we want to thank you for your partnership with Disciples Church Extension Fund\u00a0(DCEF), including New Church Ministry,\u00a0and Hope Partnership Services. 2020 has been unprecedented in so many ways.
